Terri Lynn Taylor
"Star readers" are professional entertainers and politicians reading aloud
to public elementary schools, grade pre-K to 3, using their natural talents
for the gift of storytelling.  This program is also an instruction in science,
as each story relates to the school's classroom studies for that month.

THE STAR READERS PROGRAM is an innovative approach to providing
a forum for the development of critical academic skills, such as reading,
listening and comprehension.
                IMMEDIATE OBJECTIVES
  • Integrate a fun, enrichment learning program into the school's core curriculum;
  • Introduce the concept of reading as a pleasurable leisure time alternative;
  • Introduce concepts which promote literacy, including:
    an increase in reading and listening skills;
    improved language;
    improved auditory processing
